Simple Things We Use

LIVE-IN terms

End User Licence Agreement and terms of sale · Version 1.0, October 2026

This agreement is between you and The Designers di Frusi Emanuele & C. S.n.c., Via Piero della Francesca 11, 06012 Città di Castello (PG), Italy, VAT IT03725770543, trading as Simple Things We Use ("we", "us"). It covers the LIVE-IN Audio Unit, the LIVE-IN app, the uninstaller, the Demo Show and the documentation, and their updates (together, "the Software"). The free LIVE-IN Screen app for iPad is distributed through the App Store under Apple's standard licence terms. By installing or using the Software you accept this agreement. If you don't accept it, don't install the Software.

1. Trial

You may use the full Software free of charge for 15 days from its first run on each Mac, to decide whether it suits you.

The trial is checked only when the plug-in loads (when a Logic project opens), never while it is running: it can't end in the middle of a show. After the trial the plug-in asks for a licence key and the iPad shows “Trial ended” until one is activated. Your shows, settings and projects are kept, and come back as soon as you activate.

2. Licence

When you buy LIVE-IN you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the version you bought, for as long as you like, on up to two (2) Macs that you own or control at the same time. You may use the Software for personal and professional work, including paid performances, recordings and teaching, and everything you make with it is yours.

You are welcome to show LIVE-IN in reviews, articles, tutorials, demo videos and audio demos, naming the product and its maker.

3. Activation, moving and recovering a licence

Activation needs an internet connection once. After that the Software never checks the licence again and works offline.

To move the licence to another Mac, deactivate it first on one of the two (in the plug-in: File › Licence…). If a Mac is lost, broken or erased before you could deactivate it, or you lose your key, write to info@simplethingsweuse.com from the email you bought with: we'll free the activation or send the key again. Your key is also in your purchase receipt.

If the activation service is temporarily unavailable, Macs already activated keep working, and new activations can be done as soon as it's back.

The licence is personal. If you want to pass it on to someone else, write to us: we may move it to them, and it then stops working for you.

4. What you may not do

You may not share, sell, rent, lend or publish the Software or your licence key (except as allowed in section 3); use the key on more Macs than allowed; get around the trial or the licence check; or decompile, reverse engineer or modify the Software, except where the law expressly allows it.

5. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights to it, including copyright and the names LIVE-IN and Simple Things We Use. The Software includes third-party components, which remain the property of their owners and are used under their licences: the JUCE framework, and the Barlow, Barlow Condensed and JetBrains Mono fonts under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

6. Activation data and privacy

Activating or deactivating a licence key sends the key and the name of your Mac to our store provider, Lemon Squeezy, to check the key and count the activations. Apart from that, the Software doesn't connect to the internet and collects no data about you, your projects or your use. The LIVE-IN Screen app talks to the Mac only through the USB cable. Details: simplethingsweuse.com/privacy.html.

7. Updates and support

Your purchase includes free updates within the major version of LIVE-IN you bought (for example, version 1.x), which may include bug fixes, improvements and new features. Future major versions (for example, version 2.x) may be offered free of charge or may require a separate purchase; any upgrade price and terms will be communicated before purchase. Your licence to the version you bought remains valid indefinitely, subject to this agreement.

We offer help at info@simplethingsweuse.com, but we are not obliged to provide ongoing support. Updates are covered by this agreement unless they come with a new one.

8. Live performance, and what we guarantee

LIVE-IN is designed never to start or stop Logic's playback on its own: it stops Logic only where you asked it to (a hold you booked, or the end of a song, which you can cancel), and the iPad keys only send the commands you assign in Logic. But a live show depends on many things outside our control: your computer, cables, Logic, the iPad, the venue. Use the trial to test the Software in your own setup, and always rehearse your show with it.

Apart from the rights the law gives you and that can't be excluded, the Software is provided “as is”, without other warranties. If you are a consumer, you keep your legal guarantee that the Software conforms to its description (in the EU, under Directive (EU) 2019/770 and your national law): nothing in this agreement limits it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost earnings, cancelled or interrupted performances, or lost data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the licence. These limits don't apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or to anything else that can't be limited by law, and they don't reduce your rights as a consumer.

10. End

If you seriously break this agreement (for example by sharing your key or getting around the licence check), we may end your licence by writing to you, and the key will be deactivated. When the licence ends you must stop using the Software and remove it. Sections 5, 8, 9 and 11 still apply after the end.

11. Law

This agreement is governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law of the country where you live that can't be excluded by agreement, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live. Otherwise, the courts of Perugia, Italy, have exclusive jurisdiction.

Buying a licence

Licences are sold by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC), our reseller and merchant of record: it takes the payment, issues the receipt and handles VAT and sales taxes. The price shown at checkout includes tax. Your licence key is sent by email right after the purchase.

One discount code can be used per order. Spread the show rewards that add up (see simplethingsweuse.com/spread.html) are combined into one personal code.

Please use the 15-day trial before buying. If something doesn't work as described, write to us and we'll find a solution, including a refund where appropriate. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
